Job description


As a Data Owner Vice President within Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Business Banking Insurance team, you will be accountable for the data created, provisioned, and consumed across key Business Banking capabilities, including Insurance, Deposits, and Lending. You will help ensure that critical data is clearly defined, properly classified, well-documented, high quality, protected, and fit for business use across operations, analytics, reporting, AI/ML, risk management, and regulatory needs.
In this role, you will serve as a senior data subject matter expert for Business Banking, partnering across Business, Technology, Analytics, Operations, Risk, Control, and Data Management teams to define data requirements, strengthen metadata, improve data quality, support data discovery, and drive remediation of data issues. You will execute data governance and data risk management processes across the data lifecycle, including data protection, retention, storage, use, quality, and disposition, while helping deliver trusted, reusable data that supports Business Banking growth and client outcomes.
Job responsibilities
  • Own and govern critical Business Banking data across Insurance, Deposits, and Lending domains.
  • Define, document, and maintain business meaning, metadata, classification, ownership, lineage, and quality expectations for critical data.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define data requirements and support delivery of data needed for operations, analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and risk/control use cases.
  • Execute processes to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks across the lifecycle, including protection, retention, storage, use, quality, and disposition.
  • Drive remediation of data issues by partnering with technology, product, analytics, operations, risk, and control teams to identify root cause and sustainable resolution.
  • Support data discovery, feasibility assessment, and dependency management for new and evolving Business Banking data needs.
  • Track milestones, issues, risks, bottlenecks, controls, workstreams, and KPIs to ensure successful delivery of data outcomes.
  • Lead through influence across direct and matrixed teams to advance CCB data governance, data quality, and data protection priorities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 8+ years of experience in a data-related field.
  • Experience managing delivery across multiple workstreams with varying timelines.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business data, product data, data governance, data quality, metadata, or data risk management.
  • Working knowledge of data management, data governance, data protection, retention, and data lifecycle concepts.
  • Understanding of modern data platforms, data architecture, and analytics enablement.
  • Proven ability to deliver outcomes through strong internal partnerships and influence without authority.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data topics to senior audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving, structuring, and business judgment skills.
  • Experience with risk and control requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, deposits, lending, or other regulated business domains.
  • Experience with data engineering, analytics, or governance tools such as SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Spark, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Python, or related platforms.
  • Knowledge of metadata management, data taxonomy, data catalogs, lineage, data quality rules, and data standards.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML, advanced analytics, or AI-ready data initiatives.
  • Master's degree preferred.
