We pride ourselves in providing innovative programs for our interns in order for them to learn and grow they progress through their careers. Our internship program gives students a chance to meet new people, gain more experience, and learn from the best in the business! Our interns are treated like full-time Partners who work 40 hours a week during the 3-month summer program, are compensated, and based out of headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio.
A Strategic Data Analyst Intern is responsible for working as part of a team to perform individual and group analysis on business strategies designed to grow revenue, manage expense and mitigate risk. Interns will also participate in projects to be presented to UHM's leadership team at the conclusion of the internship.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Perform needed analyses at the direction of department leadership
  • Extract, manipulate and visualize data across different platforms
  • Collaborate with Business Partners within and outside of the department to drive analysis forward
  • Present findings and recommendations to different audiences and at different times with an emphasis on effectively informing stakeholders with necessary information to make critical business decisions
  • Other tasks as assigned by your supervisor

SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with at least one relational database (SQL experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with at least one spreadsheet application
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multitask
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A willingness to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Pursuing a 2-year or 4-year college degree in Data Analytics, Economics or Advanced Mathematics
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior Standing
