The Specialty Equipment Services division is looking for a Data Analyst to build a modern data intelligence team that improves decisions, strengthens client value, and increases operational efficiency. The Data Analyst role helps to drive innovation through the use of data and technology to support outstanding results for both our clients and Great American Insurance.

To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in-office days are Tuesday-Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Delivers thorough analysis of data systems, reporting solutions, and information architecture as part of a culture of knowledgeable expertise
  • Participates in conducting assessments of existing business processes and interdependences with business polices, and procedures.
  • Utilizes data to assist in identifying inefficiencies, sub-optimal customer/user experience, bottlenecks, and areas for enhancement
  • Maintains an expert understanding of the use of Artificial Intelligence tools as a solution for analysis and process improvement
  • Conducts testing of business process designs and reporting solutions to assist with calibrating accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to assist with developing actionable improvement plans.
  • Maintains key assets, including a library of sources for reports, data dictionaries, schemas and service requests
  • Testing and definition of IT backlog items related to data and analytics
  • Works closely with divisional leaders, shared services, and IT partners to ensure solutions are practical and adoptable.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or similar) or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting analytics/reporting delivery, requirements definition, or business process analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills; ability to maintain data dictionaries, report inventories, and request intake artifacts
  • Comfort operating as an 'expert user' of analytics and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, BI tools) [confirm required tools]
  • Ability to write clear requirements, test plans, and acceptance criteria for IT and analytics backlogs
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to coordinate across business and technical teams
  • May require periodic travel to stakeholder sites or company locations (10% Travel)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data governance artifacts (data dictionaries, lineage, definitions, controls)
  • Experience with workflow or intake tools (ticketing systems, request funnels)
  • Insurance or financial services domain familiarity
  • Familiarity with the division's reporting environment and source systems
