Job description

Position Summary

The Architectural Sales Representative is responsible for developing and expanding Stobag’s presence in the Miami / South Florida market by building deep relationships with architects, designers, specifiers, landscape architects, contractors, and dealers. The role combines proactive architectural specification selling (Lunch & Learns, technical guidance, project influence) with dealer/contractor development, accurate pipeline management, competitive intelligence, and consistent achievement of sales and market-development goals. The successful candidate will faithfully represent Stobag’s premium Swiss-engineered products and brand values while identifying opportunities that align with the company’s strategic focus on modern architecture and outdoor living.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, Designer & Specifier Development

  • Identify, contact, and cultivate relationships with architectural firms, interior and landscape designers, consultants, and other specification influencers throughout Miami and South Florida.
  • Build and maintain a strong professional network in the local architectural and design community.
  • Deliver customized Lunch & Learn presentations that clearly communicate product applications, technical advantages, aesthetic integration, specification details, and value for modern architectural projects.
  • Provide technical product guidance, assist with product selection, review drawings and specifications, and support project documentation.
  • Follow up systematically after presentations and visits to convert opportunities into specifications and projects.
  • Stay current on product updates, industry trends, building codes, and relevant standards.

Dealer, Contractor & Market Development

  • Prospect, sign, and develop new dealers, contractors, and trade partners in the Miami / South Florida territory.
  • Drive sales activity by studying existing and potential dealer volume, adjusting presentation content to the audience, and actively promoting Stobag products.
  • Forward all leads and secured orders to the company; submit orders accurately using price lists and product literature.
  • Monitor competition by gathering marketplace intelligence on pricing, products, new introductions, delivery, and merchandising; report changes and recommend product, service, or policy improvements.
  • Resolve customer and partner issues by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management.
  • Ensure steps are in place to achieve assigned budgets and goals.

Customer Visits, Pipeline & CRM Management

  • lan and conduct regular visits to architects, designers, dealers, and contractors.
  • Accurately record visits, discussions, opportunities, concerns, and follow-up actions in the company’s ERP/CRM system.
  • Maintain current contact information, project details, and historical sales records.
  • Manage the sales pipeline consistently and prepare activity, opportunity, and market-development reports.
  • Report regularly on all sales activity and immediately inform the company of any business or customer issues in the territory.

 Company Representation & Professional Development

  • Faithfully and accurately represent Stobag, its policies, products, and brand values to all customers and partners; promote the company’s interests with best efforts.
  • Maintain exclusive focus on Stobag during employment (no representation of competing firms).
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and industry associations.
  • Coordinate with internal technical, sales, and service teams as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in architectural/specification sales, construction products, building systems, design, or related field.
  • Demonstrated success prospecting and developing relationships with architects, designers, and trade professionals.
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills, including experience delivering Lunch & Learns or educational sessions.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, installation requirements, and building considerations, and to communicate complex product information clearly.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/CRM systems for tracking customers, visits, opportunities, and follow-ups.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a territory, and travel regularly throughout the Miami / South Florida market.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • English fluency required; Spanish language skills strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Established relationships within the Miami architectural, design, and construction community.
  • Direct experience with building products, architectural shading systems, outdoor living products, or premium European brands.
  • Knowledge of project-development processes and competitive landscape in the Southeast U.S.
  • Track record of signing and growing dealer/contractor networks while driving specification sales.
