Job Summary:
Melink Solar is a nationally recognized leader in commercial solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services and is the Midwest's #1 Commercial Solar EPC since 2023. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Project Manager (SPM) to lead large-scale solar projects from concept to completion. The SPM will oversee multiple complex installations, mentor project teams, and drive execution excellence across budgets, schedules, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to balance operational detail with big-picture strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Strategy
โ€ข Oversee all phases of multiple solar projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client expectations.
โ€ข Develop and manage project budgets exceeding multi-million-dollar scope.
โ€ข Lead project kickoffs, risk assessments, and schedule development.
โ€ข Provide strategic input to operations and business development teams on constructability, resource planning, and pricing.
Execution & Oversight
โ€ข Drive accountability for on-time, on-budget, and high-quality project delivery.
โ€ข Conduct regular project reviews and ensure timely cost and revenue forecasting.
โ€ข Represent Melink Solar in client meetings, contract negotiations, and partner relationships.
โ€ข Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
Team Development & Mentorship
โ€ข Mentor Project Managers and Associate Project Managers, fostering professional growth and technical proficiency.
โ€ข Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the project team.
โ€ข Provide leadership in implementing process improvements and best practices.
Problem-Solving & Technical Expertise
โ€ข Serve as an escalation point for complex project or technical challenges.

โ€ข Stay current with solar technology, codes, and industry trends to guide design and execution decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
โ€ข Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
โ€ข Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Smartsheets, and ERP systems (Sage preferred).
โ€ข Proven experience managing complex construction projects with multiple stakeholders.
โ€ข Strong understanding of contracts, schedules, specifications, and risk management.
โ€ข Ability to balance strategic and tactical priorities while leading teams under pressure.
โ€ข Demonstrated success in building long-term client relationships and driving team performance.
Travel:
โ€ข Up to 30% travel required for project oversight, client engagement, and team development.
Education & Experience:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
โ€ข 5+ years of project management experience in solar, EPC, or construction industries.
โ€ข PMP certification required or equivalent experience.
โ€ข NABCEP certification highly preferred.
โ€ข Electrical or engineering background strongly preferred.
โ€ข Experience managing large rooftop, carport, and ground-mount solar projects.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to traverse and inspect job sites in various weather conditions, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to typical construction site hazards.
