Job description

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Project Managers to manage the full lifecycle of commercial solar EPC projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This role includes overseeing field execution, coordinating construction teams, and supporting preconstruction activities to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and overall project readiness.

The Project Manager is responsible for driving safe, high-quality, and efficient project delivery while maintaining control of cost, schedule, and day-to-day operations across all assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Preconstruction Oversight

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Review project drawings, specifications, and schedules for constructability and site planning.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Collaborate with estimating to validate scope, phasing, and manpower projections.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Participate in subcontractor scope reviews and pre-award meetings.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Assist in developing construction schedules, procurement timelines, and risk assessments.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Lead internal hand-off meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to field-execution.

Construction Execution

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Manage field execution including mobilization, construction, inspections, and closeout.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Develop and manage project schedules, manpower plans, and lookaheads.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinate across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes to drive efficient installation.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Conduct site visits and lead weekly construction meetings with internal teams and subcontractors.

Cost & Contract Management

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Manage project budgets and cost controls throughout construction.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Review and approve pay applications, manage change orders, and track committed vs. actual costs.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Enforce scope compliance and verify subcontractor alignment with contract documents.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide budget forecasts and variance reports to senior leadership.

Field & Team Coordination

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Supervise project field personnel on assigned sites.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse to ensure timely delivery of materials, tools, and equipment.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Manage subcontractors and maintain accountability for performance, schedule, and safety.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Serve as the primary point-of-contact for resolution of issues, RFI escalations, and decision-making.

Compliance & Closeout

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Ensure compliance with contract terms, OSHA, NEC, local codes, and internal safety procedures.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain field documentation including daily logs, inspection records, and quality control reports.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Manage final inspections, punch list completion, and as-built documentation.ย 

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinate handoff packages and ensure timely project closeout and turnover.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  4+ years of construction management experience; solar EPC preferred.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field experience.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, sequencing, and field logistics.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain).

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience managing solar projects from preconstruction through final punch and turnover.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Excellent time management and organizational skills.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Project, and Office 365.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Successfully lead and manage complex portfolios.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to read, understand and interpret contract and insurance documents and forms, and make appropriate recommendations.
