Job description

Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate to join a growing commercial litigation practice in Wilmington. This is an outstanding opportunity for a high-performing attorney looking to handle sophisticated business disputes and gain exposure to some of the most significant corporate and commercial litigation matters in the country.

The ideal candidate will have 3โ€“5 years of commercial litigation experience and a strong background litigating matters before Delaware's premier business courts.

Responsibilities
  • Handle all phases of complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and other litigation-related filings
  • Manage discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
  • Develop litigation strategy and analyze complex legal and factual issues
  • Work directly with clients on case management, risk assessment, and dispute resolution
  • Collaborate with attorneys across litigation teams on sophisticated commercial disputes
  • Represent clients in Delaware state courts and other litigation forums as needed
Qualifications
  • 3โ€“5 years of commercial litigation experience
  • Experience handling complex commercial disputes in a law firm setting
  • Demonstrated litigation experience before the Delaware Court of Chancery and/or the Complex Commercial Litigation Division of the Delaware Superior Court
  • Superior legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and client management abilities
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Proven ability to manage sophisticated litigation matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Active Delaware Bar admission required
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary range: $205,000 โ€“ $225,000
  • 4x4 Hybrid Model (in-office Wednesdays plus four additional in-office days per month)
