Commercial Litigation Associate - San Francisco/Oakland

Responsibilities
- Working on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trial and appeal
- Conducting legal research and writing memoranda
- Drafting complex case analyses and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
- Conducting, propounding, and responding to discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions)
- Working with clients, witnesses, experts and other counsel
Compensation and Benefits
Pursuant to California law, the salary range for this position will be $280,000 to $345,000 based on experience and location. Based on years of experience, Dentons associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Technical skills
- 4-6 years of complex and sophisticated litigation experience is required
- Strong writing and case management skills, level-appropriate direct experience handling clients and adversaries, and excellent oral advocacy skills are required
- Deposition and court experience is preferred
- Previous law firm experience is strongly preferred
- Experience or interest in first party insurance bad faith (defending enterprise insurers and financial institutions) and financial services/securities litigation (defending financial institutions, securities broker-dealers, insurance and annuity companies) is ideal, but not required
Other requirements
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing
- Submission of a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and at least one writing sample
