POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Technical Designer reports to the Woodshop Manager
  • Located in Omaha, NE
  • Full-Time

The Technical Designer assumes a vital role in commercial kitchen design, contributing to the creation of draft layouts, production drawings, and presentation materials. This position is instrumental in developing and maintaining client relationships during schematic design, design development, and prototypical package development. The designer actively collaborates with architectural and engineering partners across various regions, ensuring the successful execution of design projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create submittal drawings for customers and production needs
  • Modify architectural drawings to match on site conditions and ensure proper layout of equipment and millwork
  • Create cut lists and shop drawings using CAM software
  • Contribute to the creation of design drawings, specifications, and other technical documents necessary for project execution.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure that design documentation aligns with project requirements and standards.
  • Assist in the coordination of design elements with cross-functional teams, including architectural and engineering partners.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless integration of design components within the project.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining project files and folders, ensuring efficient data management for easy retrieval and reference.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to gain insights into industry best practices and refine technical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1 โ€“ 2 years of experience in a professional CAD environment/department, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • Preferred previous experience in the woodworking industry and Microvellum software.
  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills, including software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with Revit, Navisworks Manage, BIM360, Smartsheet, AutoQuotes, KCL helpful
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
