Responsibilities:

The Designer is responsible for commercial kitchen design, draft layouts, production drawings, and presentation drawings. This position is responsible for partner/client relationships when developing schematic design, design development, and prototypical packages. The designer is also responsible for coordinating with architectural and engineering partners.

  • Be an in-depth source of knowledge of foodservice kitchen design and equipment

  • Provide customers detailed AutoCad drawings and equipment schedules for foodservice
    establishments by listening to their wants and needs or consulting with them and/or their architect or General Contractor.

  • Perform site visits to obtain field measurements necessary for specifying equipment.

  • Communicate the utility requirements of foodservice equipment to the customer or their
    representative, by providing specification sheets, specific written requests for a utility or utilities,
    and providing Rough-In-Drawings.

  • Direct the placement of equipment at the jobsite by providing detailed drawings.

  • Lead collaborative efforts on multiple commercial kitchen projects, engaging in all design phases from concept to completion.

  • Manage project timelines, ensuring deliverables align with client expectations and internal benchmarks.

  • Conceptualize and sketch layouts, leveraging creative insights to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency

  • Initiate and maintain effective communication with clients, conducting meetings to ascertain their specific spatial requirements and design preferences.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, translating it into actionable design elements.

  • Provides support to in store sales teams with different projects they may be working on



Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years commercial kitchen design experience

  • Strong conceptual and client-service skills, contributing to effective problem-solving.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, managing tight schedules, deadlines, and budgets in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills fostering effective communication and collaboration.

  • Superior technical and layout design skills, coupled with strong conceptual and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Self-starter with great follow up and retention

  • Spanish speaking a plus

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred
