About the Employer
San Luis Coastal Unified School District represents the communities of Avila, Edna Valley, Los Osos, Morro Bay, and San Luis Obispo and currently has an enrollment of approximately 7,500 students. Small neighborhood schools are a hallmark of the District where students are educated from preschool through twelfth grade and a world-class adult school program offers unique, life-improving courses to thousands of community members.
Job Summary
San Luis Coastal has implemented a Farm-to-Table approach in providing high quality, delicious food to our students and we are seeking innovative culinary professionals to lead our teams. Both of our high schools will have state of the art production kitchens next year.
To supervise the food service operation at the District central kitchen; organize daily production; distribute work assignments; ensure food safety; order and receive food and supplies; and perform related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION
Receive general supervision from the Director of Food Service. Supervise, coordinate, direct, and evaluate all central kitchen food service employees.
Requirements / Qualifications

  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) professional references, dated within past 2 years)

  • ServSafe Certificate (or other food handling certification)

Comments and Other Information
This is a supervisory position overseeing production in one of the brand new high school kitchens. Managers receive a matching contribution for a 457/403b account, generous contribution to family health benefits including medical, dental and vision, as well as a $100,000 life insurance policy paid for by the District.
