Job description

Application close date:

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

We're looking for a sales leader who can bridge two worlds: selling cutting-edge space offerings (launch services, in-space mobility, connectivity, space-based data centers, lunar logistics, and more) to the high-tech industry - think hyperscalers, AI labs, and frontier tech companies and beyond. Equally, we want someone who can bring tech-sector customers into the space economy and translate space capabilities into business value for them. If you're energized by applying your technical fluency, commercial instincts, and high standards to shape the future of space exploration - and if our mission lights you up - we want to hear from you.

Location: Kent, WA preferred. Only Blue Origin locations will be considered.

What You'll Do

As part of the Commercial & International Sales team, the Commercial Sales Director is responsible for closing deals and driving revenue across Blue Origin's full portfolio. You'll own a strategic commercial pipeline that spans our business units and programs. You'll be measured against sales goals and related metrics, which means a significant portion of your work will involve proposal and contract development alongside cross-functional partners - technical, programmatic, legal and compliance, finance, and strategy. A core part of this role is translating across industries: making space offerings legible and compelling to tech buyers, and helping space-native customers understand emerging tech capabilities. You'll be the connective tissue between two fast-moving sectors.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in a technical field (e.g., aerospace engineering, computer science)
  • 7+ years of experience in complex B2B or B2G sales
  • Demonstrated ability to sell into, or on behalf of, the high-tech sector (e.g., hyperscalers, cloud providers, AI companies, data infrastructure) or the space/aerospace sector - with the aptitude to quickly learn the other
  • Aptitude to learn and communicate complex technical concepts fluently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including highly technical and financial presentations
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to run multiple pursuits in parallel
  • Track record of high judgment, accountability, ethics, energy, creativity, and standards
  • Ability to travel judiciously to support customers and conferences
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in business administration or equivalent (e.g., MBA)
  • Experience selling to or within high-tech / hyperscaler / AI customers (e.g., Meta, Anthropic, Google, AWS, Microsoft, OpenAI)
  • Experience selling aerospace, launch, satellite, or space-based services to commercial customers
  • 5+ years of recent aerospace industry experience
  • 5+ years of international business experience

Base Pay Range for:

CA applicants is $169,624.00 - $237,473.25 VA applicants is $169,624.00 - $237,473.25 WA applicants is $169,624.00 - $237,473.25
