Salary Grade: 24
Starting Range: $88,418.00 - $109,222.00 Depending on Experience

Savings Bank of Mendocino County has proudly been serving the needs of our communities since 1903 and is seeking a qualified professional to supervise our Business Bankers and Deposit Relationship Specialist in the Small Business Lending Department. The Business Banking Manager provides support and guidance to their team while also developing and managing a portfolio of borrowers in order to effectively reach individual and Bank goals. This role involves assessing and mitigating risk and being proactive in establishing new small business relationships within our communities. The Business Banking Manager works extensively with the community, small business owners, the Senior Lending Officer, the Chief Credit Officer, and the Credit Administration Team.
The ideal candidate has at least five years experience in banking, preferably focused on Small Business Lending. A successful person in this role is goal-oriented; skilled at building strong collaborative relationships; enjoys coaching others to reach their full potential; has strong organizational and time management skills; and thrives in a dynamic, evolving work environment. 8. Partners with the Senior Lending Officer to develop and streamline the process of approving and funding small business loans.
9. Works closely with the Deposit Relationship Specialist to identify prospects for development and expansion of full depository relationships for commercial clients.
10. Collaborates with Retail Banking and branch personnel to ensure branch referrals are encouraged and promptly reviewed when submitted.
11. Manages risk and minimize losses by actively monitoring the small business loan portfolio.
12. Ensures credit recommendations are appropriately structured in terms of rate, amortization, repayment and collateral prior to submission for approval.
13. Cooperates with and complete assignments associated with internal and external audits in a timely manner.
14. Represents the Bank in community events and initiatives that strengthen customer relationships, enhance the Banks presence and support business growth.
15. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Five years experience and/or training in small business or commercial lending
Two years supervisory experience
Experience managing a dedicated book of business customers
The ability to register as a Mortgage Loan Originator through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System
An acceptable credit history
A valid drivers license
PREFERENCES
A Bachelors or Associate degree in a related field
Credit analysis and underwriting experience
Experience with Customer Relationship Management software
English/Spanish bilingual skills
