We are seeking an energetic, well-organized and highly motivated multi-tasker who will work for our Global Underwriting Department at Globex Underwriting Services, a division of Globex International Group.


This is an exciting role that will offer candidates theexperience of placing all lines of coverage in over 200 countries and territories. The Account Assistant will be a core member of our Global Underwriting Department, as this department manages our clients and handles their multinational programs worldwide. The Account Assistant will correspond with our clients and international Network Partners via emails, phone calls, video calls, in-person meetings and other communication platforms, and adapt to our service priorities in a highly specialized business environment. He/she will be responsible for the assigned clients along with their new and renewal business. He/she will also provide support to any additional initiatives and projects.


The successful candidate may work remotely from their home office however be willing to spend appropriate time in the home office based in Connecticut. He/she should be willing to travel to other countries and territories globally whenever required. He/she should be professional, responsive, engaged and have avid interest to learn. He/she should also be organized as well as work productively and independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn who Globex is and how we operate;
  • Learn and adhere to Globex requirement, guidelines, procedures and practice;
  • Become familiar with the IT system and online platform;
  • Learn and understand our multinational program handling processes and procedures;
  • Learn the function and basic process of our GPS premium accounting services;
  • Learn and adhere to our global network procedures and practice;
  • Work closely with senior members of Global Underwriting Department for training;
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of assigned books of business;
  • Adapt to Globex service priorities in a highly specialized environment;
  • Review submissions and secure terms with foreign insurance companies;
  • Handle renewal accounts independently with support from the team;
  • Handle straightforward new business with support from the team;
  • Master the Globex account handling procedures;
  • Utilize our online platform for transacting business;
  • Respond to client requests within 24 to 48 hours;
  • Notify the data team of account changes as needed;
  • Escalate matters to client relationship managers when appropriate;
  • Be involved with ongoing network development when needed;
  • Provide support on any assigned research initiatives and projects;
  • Assist team members in the overall development of Globex business and operations;


Future Growth:

The Account Assistant can grow into an Account Manager within a year or shorter, as the timeline completely depends on his/her desire and willingness to learn and adapt. The Account Manager will manage the assigned clients along with their portfolios for multiple lines of coverage.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • College Bachelors Degree or higher in related field; Risk Management major is a plus
  • 0-1 years commercial insurance experience;
  • Multinational account management experience is a plus;
  • Connections with commercial insurance market is a plus;
  • Willingness to travel to the US (if located outside the US) and possibly other regions globally;
  • Fluent spoken and written English language skills are required;
  • Additional languages are a plus;
  • An open mindedness; experience working in multi-cultural environments or internationally are a plus;
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours when necessary due to partners in different time zones;
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google system and other common IT solutions;
  • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills with business professionals from different countries and territories;
  • Ability to stay highly organized and work in a detail-oriented manner;
  • Ability to work on a variety of projects and meet time sensitive deadlines;
  • Self-motivated, self-disciplined, positive attitude, and service oriented to a resourceful position for colleagues and partners.
  • Ability to understand complex concepts and present them in a clear and concise manner;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
