Job description

Sony Pictures Television Studios (SPTS) is one of the industry's leading content providers, producing programming worldwide across genres and platforms. As the largest independent TV studio in the industry, SPTS produces 50+ shows each year including THE BOYS, COBRA KAI, THE GOOD DOCTOR, OUTLANDER, and PLATONIC. SPTS is part of the larger Sony Pictures Television (SPT) division. SPT is a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sony Group Corporation.

Sony Pictures Television is seeking a highly organized, proactive Sr Administrative Assistant to support executives within the Comedy Development teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment, exercises sound judgment, and can anticipate team needs while managing multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, exceptional multitasker, and collaborative team player with a passion for television and storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative and operational support to the SVP Comedy, including complex calendar management, scheduling, prioritization of competing demands, and phone coverage
  • Track and help manage development materials, submissions, and project-related information to ensure timely follow-up and execution
  • Coordinate meetings, calls, and department activities while proactively managing logistics, anticipating needs, and ensuring executives remain organized and aligned on priorities
  • Prepare and process expense reports, invoices, and other administrative documentation in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update contact databases, call lists, and departmental records
  • Read scripts and creative materials, review cuts/dailies, and provide thoughtful coverage, summaries, and key takeaways from meetings, calls, screenings, and development discussions
  • Create presentations, correspondence, reports, and executive-ready materials that support development initiatives, strategic discussions, and team communications
  • Arrange travel, including itineraries, visas, accommodations, and related logistics, prepare, submit and track expense reports
  • Conduct research and synthesize information related to projects, talent, marketplace trends, competitive programming, and development initiatives to support executive decision-making
  • Coordinate and support special projects, departmental initiatives, and process improvements as assigned
  • Help facilitate effective communication and collaboration across internal teams and external partners

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, prioritize competing requests, and manage sensitive information in a dynamic environment

The anticipated base salary for this position is $32/hour to $40/hour. This role may also qualify for incentives and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
