SUPERVISOR:

Manager or designee.

SUMMARY:  

Responsible for maintenance, care and upkeep of all Grounds and related equipment throughout the District.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for operation and maintenance of equipment. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Supervises crew in weekly maintenance of assigned sites to include mowing, weeding, edging, site cleanup, gravel playgrounds and non-selective spraying (fence lines, trees, walks, etc.). [Daily, 25%]

Manages, trains and coaches assigned personnel on maintenance. Provides direction on jobs, work orders and priorities. [Daily, 20%]

Observes and reports on irrigation and landscaping needs to Supervisor. [Daily, 10%]

Assists in district stadium cleanup and repairs. [Weekly, 5%]

Repairs and installs fences, both wood and chain link. [Weekly, 5%]

Completes assigned landscaping to include plant placement and other planting as well as rock or bark work. [Monthly, 15%]

Available for on call snow removal as assigned. [Monthly, 5%]

Applies fertilizer. [Quarterly, 10%]

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent.

One (1) year Grounds experience.

Must have phone for emergency contact.

Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool.

Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired.

Valid Colorado Driver's License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

N/A

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Extremely heavy physical lifting of over fifty (50) lbs. Items will be of various shapes and sizes.

Overhead lifting and squatting required on daily projects.

Repetitive motion, i.e., painting, digging, hammer motion, etc.

Standing, bending and kneeling
