Job description

The Role:
To provide design and color management production support in a fast-paced work environment. This position requires a superior eye for detail and color, comfortable working with both MAC and PC platforms and a strong understanding of Adobe Photoshop, as well as supporting software and applications necessary to the ceramic tile industry.

Crossville, Tennessee
Pay:
Based Upon Experience ($17-$19 hourly)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Key leader in the development and implementation of safe work practices, as well as setting safe condition standards; particularly in the areas of ergonomics and material handling.
  2. Coordinate with glazing line, production supervision, quality control, inkjet and color mill departments to detail the requirements of the projects as well as plan/prepare the necessary steps to complete the task.
  3. Run necessary tests and/or prototypes of existing and new products according to the master tile requirements. Ensuring that color and component specifications for each project are accurately justified for mass production.
  4. Preform regular quality checks on the manufacturing floor to ensure that each component related to graphics of the production process adheres to the high standards of the company.
  5. Troubleshoot and report any abnormalities pertaining to the printing process, including: engobe, glaze, inkjet, body/structure of the tile as well as tone originating from the graphic.
  6. Prepares all areas of production changeovers pertaining to graphics in a timely manner.
  7. Maintain updated profiles for the manufacturing of products by utilizing color management systems.
  8. Utilizes strong analytical process to ensure manufacturing process is followed.
  9. Resolves technical problems regarding but not limited to: shade variation, glazing defects and application as well as other problems.
  10. Performs glaze line tests as needed to ensure stability of the product during production.
  11. Maintains an open mind and willingness to learn new jobs assigned.
  12. Ability and flexibility to perform multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced setting.
  13. Maintain a highly organized archive, both digital and physical, of all aspects pertaining to the graphic production of ceramic tile manufacturing.
  14. Receives assignment and confers with supervisor regarding approval or desired changes to design.
  15. Correct and adjust graphics in Adobe Photoshop to meet production specifications.
  16. Capable of working not only in an office setting but also on the production floor to perform necessary tests of future graphics and productions.
  17. Flexibility and willingness to work night shift.
Qualifications
  1. A graduate of BS in Engineering or Bachelor in Graphic Design is preferred but not required with experience
  2. With extensive experience in graphic design and product development in the Ceramic Manufacturing
  3. Experience in Adobe Photoshop
  4. Experience in Digital Technology (System, Sacmi Intesa, Durst, Projecta, etcโ€ฆ)
  5. Familiarity with both Mac and PC Operating Systems
  6. Experience with Wacom Bamboo Tablets a plus
  7. Experience working in a fast-paced production environment a plus
