Lead Field Service Technician - Direct-to-Object Printing

This position is ideal for a highly skilled electro-mechanical professional who can independently install, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize advanced digital printing systems while serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers around the world.


What You'll Do

As a Lead Field Service Technician, you will serve as one of LSINC's primary technical experts in the field, supporting customers throughout the lifecycle of their equipment.


Key responsibilities include:


Technical Leadership: Utilize advanced electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills to diagnose, repair, and optimize direct-to-object digital printing equipment. Serve as a technical resource for complex service issues and assist in identifying long-term corrective actions.


Installation & Commissioning: Lead equipment installations, startup activities, calibrations, and customer acceptance testing to ensure successful deployment and operation of LSINC equipment.


Customer Training & Consultation: Deliver comprehensive training to customers on equipment operation, preventative maintenance, digital file preparation, workflow optimization, and production best practices.


Advanced Problem Solving: Perform root cause analysis on recurring equipment issues and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Applications teams to recommend corrective actions and product improvements.


Field & Remote Support: Independently manage customer service activities, including on-site support, remote troubleshooting, scheduling, and travel coordination while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.


Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed service reports, troubleshooting records, and customer communications. Assist in developing service procedures, troubleshooting guides, and best practices documentation.


Mentorship & Team Support: Provide guidance and knowledge-sharing to less experienced technicians and support cross-functional teams with technical expertise when needed.


Continuous Improvement: Participate in product testing, validation efforts, and field evaluations to help improve equipment reliability, serviceability, and customer experience.


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of field service, industrial maintenance, technical support, or related electro-mechanical experience.
  • Experience installing, servicing, or troubleshooting industrial equipment, automated machinery, digital printing systems, packaging equipment, robotics, CNC equipment, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and service manuals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and remote support tools.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • U.S. Citizenship verified through E-Verify.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience supporting industrial inkjet or digital printing equipment.
  • Knowledge of color management, RIP software, workflow automation, or print production environments.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, motion control systems, sensors, pneumatics, and industrial networking.
  • Military technical experience in electronics, aviation maintenance, communications, or related specialties.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, engineering technology, or a related field.
