The Prepress & Color Review Specialist plays a critical role in the intake and preparation of incoming artwork for production. This position combines preflighting (FTP) and color review into a single, specialized function, ensuring that artwork enters the production workflow in a production-ready state.
At the earliest stage of the process, incoming files are analyzed for technical structure, color build, and print feasibility. This early intervention ensures fast, accurate feedback to internal teams and customers, minimizes rework, and supports efficient production flow.

Responsibilities:
Artwork Intake & Preflighting (FTP)
  • Receive, review, and onboard incoming artwork files into the production system
  • Perform technical preflight checks
  • Ensure files meet internal standards before entering the workflow
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback to Internal Sales, customers, or Prepress teams

Color Review & Optimization
  • Analyze color builds (CMYK, RGB, spot colors) and assess compatibility with printing processes
  • Evaluate whether color construction supports stable and repeatable print results
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback to Internal Sales (customer communication)
  • Recommend adjustments to improve print stability and consistency
  • Compare new files with existing artwork to ensure consistency and standardization

Process Ownership & Quality Gate
  • Act as the primary quality gate at the artwork intake stage
  • Identify issues early to avoid downstream rework, delays, and production inefficiencies
  • Ensure fast turnaround of feedback to maintain short lead times
  • Build knowledge of recurring issues and customer-specific requirements

Global Collaboration & Support
  • Work closely with global prepress, color management, and production teams
  • Support local US operations while contributing to a standardized global model
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams to increase technical autonomy
  • Cross-site collaboration (US, Belgium, Turkey, Brazil, etc.)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Print Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in prepress, artwork preparation, or print production
  • Recommended knowledge of:
    • Color management principles
    • Printing processes (offset / packaging / labels preferred)
    • File preparation and preflight tools
