High School Diploma or Equivalent

Previous Experience Required

Middle/High School coaching experience preferred. Experience and knowledge of dance technique, color guard equipment and choreographing preferred. Experience in DCI or WGI preferred.

General Description of Position Duties

Assist with the direction of all activities of the fall color guard and winter guard. Implement a comprehensive equipment technique program as well as a fundamental movement/dance program. Participate in all extra‑curricular rehearsals, band camp, performances, and other activities as required. Assist with the direction of all recruiting efforts with the support of the band directors. Assist in the design, implementation, and direction of indoor performances during the winter season that are suitable for presentation in the community in a variety of contexts as ambassadors of the school and the band program. Assist and cooperate fully and willingly with the band staff in a unified effort to improve the comprehensive band program and support one another. Maintain clear communication and professional working relationships with students, parents, boosters and band staff. Help organize efforts such as fundraising, prop building, etc. to support the program. Be able to effectively create and manage a budget for the color guard.
