Language Arts Teacher High School - Pipestone
JOB DESCRIPTION
Pipestone Area Middle and High School is currently seeking an energetic and personable individual to fill an open full time English Language Arts teacher position.  Duties include developing and delivering language arts lessons to middle and high school students, aligning state curriculum, growing through professional learning communities and following district initiatives.  Work with teaching concurrent enrollment courses is beneficial. 
QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Teaching experience in a middle and high school setting
  • Holds a Minnesota teaching certificate, with appropriate endorsement
  • Knowledgeable computer user; familiarity with Student Information Systems helpful
  • Solid classroom management skills based on current research practices
  • Understanding of Common Core Standards
  • Willingness to work with students with unique backgrounds and skills
  • Willingness to be involved in other aspects of the Pipestone Area Schools culture and community
  • Team Player and team-oriented thinker

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach language arts courses to students while providing challenging curriculum for all students.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' grades and attendance.
  • Carry out the implementation of district initiatives.
  • Align and implement lessons based on Common Core Standards within the curriculum.
  • Practice and carry out rules and procedures as defined by the Pipestone Area School District.
  • Participate fully in all staff development, professional learning communities and staff collaboration such as in-service, staff meetings, committee work, parent conference nights, etc.
  • Support the Principal with supervision of students.

SUPERVISION:
The language arts teacher reports to the building principal. 
COMPENSATION:
Teachers are compensated according to the current master agreement. Salary range is $51,000-$95,000. Benefits include Health insurance, Life Insurance, 403B match, MN Paid Family and Medical Leave and Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST), and voluntary benefits include AFLAC.
