Job description

At Dakota Kustomz, we specialize in creating unique, custom vehicles tailored to our customers' desires. Our passion for automotive excellence and commitment to customer satisfaction sets us apart in the industry. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic body shop manager to join our team and help us deliver exceptional service to our valued clients.

About the Role
We are a high-volume custom garage looking for a skilled Body Shop Manager to join our team. This isnโ€™t your average body shopโ€”youโ€™ll be splitting your time between meticulous classic restorations, modern custom builds, and standard insurance-based collision repair. If you take pride in flawless metalwork and seamless finishes, we want to hear from you.Your role will be overseeing the efficient flow of body shop projects and keeping technician work on track while building relationships with clients and helping navigate them through Dakota Kustomz Body shop experience.

Key Responsibilities: ability to manage and step in as needed

  • Restoration & Custom Work: Perform high-quality bodywork on vintage and custom projects, including panel fitment, metal straightening, and filler work.
  • Collision Repair: Execute teardowns, structural repairs, and reassembly for insurance claims to industry standards.
  • Adaptability: Efficiently pivot between long-term restoration projects and fast-turnaround insurance jobs as priorities shift.
  • Workflow Management: Maintain high output to stay ahead of a busy shop backlog without sacrificing quality.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: Prefer a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in a body shop environment with at least 1 year proven management experience. Relevant education may substitute for 1 year of experience with references.
  • Tools: You must possess your own basic set of professional-grade tools.
  • Quality & Speed: The ability to produce "show-quality" results while maintaining a pace that keeps the shop moving.
  • Team Mindset: A positive, ego-free attitude. We win as a team, and helping a coworker finish a job is part of the culture.
  • Versatility: Youโ€™re comfortable jumping from a 1960s muscle car to a 2024 daily driver at a moment's notice.
  • BONUS: 1-3 years estimating experience. Will need to learn estimating for collision and restoration projects.

Why Work With Us?
We offer a fast-paced, creative environment where you wonโ€™t get bored doing the same bumper swap every day. Competitive salary and benefits package.Youโ€™ll have the chance to work on unique builds and see your craftsmanship on the road for years to come. Pay depending upon experience.

How to Apply:

If you are a motivated individual with a passion for customer service and cars, we would love to hear from you! Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience.
