Position Summary
The Student Office Assistant for the Department of Residence Life and Housing Operations provides administrative support, to include: filing; working on assigned projects; tours; and assisting with the daily operations of the offices. The Student Office Assistant reports to the Associate Director of Residence Life and HOusing Operations
Essential Functions
Works on different tasks as assigned by the Residence Life Administrative Team to include, but not limited to:
  • Filing student paperwork.
  • Making ID cards.
  • Providing desk coverage within offices.
  • Responding to guest inquiries.
  • Performing lockouts.
  • Performing hall tours.
  • Developing marketing materials, etc.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to converse clearly on the phone.
  • Work in a team-driven environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA

Work Hours
  • The Student Assistant will provide office assistance during normal business hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, however, will not work more than 20 hours a week.
  • Certain evening hours and weekend hours may be scheduled due to office commitments.
  • Some evening and weekend hours to include one Saturday per month

This position requires light lifting and the ability to navigate campus.
