Description
Trinidad State College is seeking a Head Softball Coach. The successful candidate will serve as head women's softball coach in all aspects of coaching responsibilities which include coaching and teaching the game of softball, assisting in daily practices with drills, technique, and conditioning, budgeting, recruiting, planning and assisting in game day management. This position is responsible for the supervision of players during road trips. Other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Athletic Director. Comply with NJCAA, Region 9, and college rules/regulations.
Examples of Duties
  • Serve as Head Women's Softball Coach. Demonstrate leadership and sportsmanship
  • Develop, promote and implement the Women's Softball Program during the academic year, including the competitive playing season
  • Designs, executes and assesses player skill development, practice and game day preparation activities
  • Oversight of the softball program administrative operations including scheduling and team travel, equipment and apparel ordering and budget planning and management
  • Recruit athletes from local, Colorado, and regional high schools
  • Compliance with NJCAA, Region 9 and TSC Athletic Department's rules and regulations
  • Develop and pursue annual recruiting goals and program goals. Participate in department's assessment cycle and annual implementation planning
  • Advising and mentoring team members with athletic and academic support
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Athletic Director
  • Teach PED classes specific to Softball that may include weightlifting, varsity sport, etc.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, students, alumni and community to generate interest and support for the program
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Work experience in education, at the post-secondary college or secondary level
  • Experience as a women's softball coach
  • Must hold, or must qualify for and obtain a Colorado Commercial Driver's License
  • Understand and be committed to the philosophy, purposes and goals of Trinidad State College and its administration
