Position Title: Graduate Assistant Coach, Softball
Reporting To: Head Softball Coach and Athletic Director

Role Summary
The Graduate Assistant will provide day to day support to the Women's Softball Program. This role is designed to provide the student with professional experience in a higher education setting while supporting the operational goals of the department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can balance their academic workload with recruiting, assisting in day-to-day operations including practice planning, games, game film, scouting and pitch charting
  • Hours per week: 20/25 hours a week
  • Stipend/Benefits: Tuition waived up to 24 credits & a $1000 stipend for the academic year

Housing, Work Hours & Duties
Athletics GA positions may include the option for on-campus housing as part of the tuition compensation package.
  • GAs who choose to live on campus are required to work up to 25 hours per week, reflecting additional responsibilities related to both Athletics and Residence Life.
  • GAs who do not choose the housing option are required to work up to 20 hours per week, focusing primarily on Athletics-related responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
Assist the Head Softball Coach in recruiting, scouting, creating practice plans, throwing batting practice, teach softball drills, equipment management/inventory, bat testing, game day operations, driving vans when needed to away games.
Eligibility & Requirements
  • Enrollment: Must be currently accepted in a Master program at Albertus Magnus College in one of the following areas:
    1. Accounting (only two spots available)
    2. Business Administration
    3. Criminal Justice
    4. Management and Organizational Leadership
    5. Healthcare Administration (only two spots available)

  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong work ethic, organized and detail oriented; proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.

Learning Outcomes (The "Value Add")
The student will learn how a women's college softball program runs on a day to day basis and the necessary skills to be a full time assistant or head collegiate softball coach.
  • Gain hands-on experience in recruiting, practice planning, budgets and trip planning.
  • Develop mentorship skills through interaction with undergraduate students.
