Job Description
The Compliance Officer is responsible for serving as the initial point of contact on legal aspects of the institution including policy, contracts, litigation, and other legal matters. This position is identified as the college's Title IX Coordinator, ADA/504 Coordinator, First Amendment Officer, and FOIA Officer.
This is an exempt, professional staff position reporting to the VP, HR, Risk & Compliance.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position
Required Education
  • Master's degree in Business Administration/Management, Compliance, or legal studies

Required Experience
  • Minimum of three years of Compliance management experience in one of the following areas: Title IX, ADA/504, FERPA, FOIA, regulatory compliance or constitutional principles

Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate of Law
  • Active or associate admission to any state's Bar Association
  • Working knowledge of FERPA, Title IX, ADA/504, FERPA, FOIA
  • Experience identifying and mitigating liability
  • Experience working within a community college
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with AdobeSign

Hours per Week 40 - 100% General Weekly Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, generally 9 a.m.- 5.pm.
