Title: Collections Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances
  • Contact customers via phone and email to resolve past-due invoices and secure payments
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
  • Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate records of collection activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams (billing, sales, customer service) to resolve account issues
  • Prepare and distribute aging reports and provide updates on collection status
  • Negotiate payment plans when necessary while maintaining positive customer relationships
  • Apply cash receipts and assist with account adjustments, credits, and write-offs
  • Support month-end closing by providing reports and account reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and collection procedures

Requirements:

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • 2 – 4 years of collections, accounts receivable, or general accounting experience
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts
