Job description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients.
Job Summary
The role of Phlebotomist involves performing laboratory procedures in phlebotomy and other specimen collections under the general supervision of the Laboratory Director, Manager, or Supervisor. The position also assists with bone marrow collection and other duties under the direction of a licensed laboratory supervisor. The Phlebotomist is expected to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with patients, co-workers, staff, and the general public.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory procedures in phlebotomy and specimen collections.
  • Assist with bone marrow collection.
  • Conduct general laboratory processing and waived POC testing.
  • Maintain professionalism and courtesy in interactions.

Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience as a Phlebotomist.
  • Must be willing to obtain CPT certification within 6 months of hire if not already certified.

Skills
  • CPR Certification.
  • Comfort with traveling to different locations as needed (Lombard, Lisle, Naperville, Westmont).

Education
  • High school diploma/GED.

Additional Requirements
The role requires flexibility for travel to other locations as needed, though it is not a driving role.
