Job description

Croker Huck has an immediate opening for a full-time dedicated and detail-oriented paralegal/legal assistant who will assist with litigation matters from the inception of a file through the closing of the file in a professional, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Must be a team player with a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience along with the ability to multi-task.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage plaintiff and defense work primarily in commercial, probate, personal injury and foreclosure litigation matters
  • Draft and respond to discovery and other pleadings
  • Collect and electronically organize documents from the client and productions from other parties
  • Manage the online repositories of documents and keyword searches for responsive items
  • Prepare and maintain depositions, trial notebooks, exhibit lists, witness lists and case timelines
  • Summarize depositions and trial testimony
  • Verify relevant information using discovery document collections, depositions, internet resources and public information
  • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and experts
  • Electronically file documents with the court and ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in litigation
  • Proficiency in legal research
  • Strong understanding of state and federal court rules and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in trial preparation and courtroom procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
