ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Retail Loan Collections (RLC) Manager is responsible for overseeing the collection and control of consumer, mortgage & indirect loan accounts that are delinquent, charged off, or experiencing other repayment challenges. Responsibilities include planning, directing, and controlling the retail loan and assigned small business collections function; ensuring that established collection policies, procedures, and legal requirements are followed; and periodically evaluating and modifying policies and procedures as needed. The RLC Manager will also be responsible for providing direction and leadership to department personnel and managing the day-to-day operations, including monitoring collector performance and reporting work activities to the Special Credit Services Manager to achieve operational requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Managing the timely collections and follow up of delinquent and charged off consumer loans.
  • Managing an assigned portfolio of small business loans directly or delegating appropriate individuals to assist in the collection of assigned loans.
  • Developing and implementing collection strategies, assigning accounts for collection both internally and externally, monitoring day to day account workflow, and monitoring collector performance.
  • Maintaining a proficient knowledge of applicable banking rules and regulations as well as bankruptcy, foreclosure, and collection law.
  • Engaging real estate brokers, auctioneers and other third parties to liquidate foreclosed and repossessed assets as necessary.
  • Overseeing the management of daily overdrafts on retail and assigned small business accounts.
  • Implementing and maintaining all electronic retail loan and DDA collection systems with appropriate training for all personnel.
  • Ensuring that policies and procedures are appropriate and updated when necessary.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • 5-7 years of experience in bank collection practices and procedures required.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have prior experience with foreclosures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills with the ability to train and effectively motivate others.

BASE PAY RANGE:

$80,000 - $110,000 per year

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office setting. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office utilizing proper ergonomic safeguards when doing so. Additionally, the employee must occasionally lift or move supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.
