Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead onsite operations for commercial construction projects. The Superintendent will be the primary onsite leader responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget and to quality expectations. This role requires strong field leadership, clear communication with owners, project management, subcontractors and trades, and a proven track record in commercial construction delivery.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day onsite leadership and supervision for commercial construction projects, serving as the primary point of contact for the owner, project manager and subcontractors.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate subcontractors, trades and work sequences to maintain progress and meet project milestones.
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety programs.
  • Monitor quality of workmanship and materials; implement and enforce QA/QC processes to meet contract documents and specifications.
  • Manage onsite logistics including material deliveries, equipment placement and site access to optimize efficiency and avoid delays.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project documentation including daily reports, progress photos, RFI logs, submittals, change orders and safety reports.
  • Identify, communicate and help resolve schedule impacts, cost implications and technical issues; escalate to project management as needed.
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings with subcontractors, design teams and owner representatives to align on schedule, scope and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing and permitting with authorities having jurisdiction and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
  • Mentor and develop field staff and craft personnel, promoting a collaborative, safety focused and results driven site culture.

Qualifications

  • Required: Minimum 5+ years of Superintendent or senior field supervision experience on commercial construction projects with demonstrable successful project completions.
  • Required: Proven hands on experience in Commercial Construction (mandatory).
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and disciplines.
  • Familiarity with construction management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera) and basic project controls.
  • Working knowledge of construction safety standards; OSHA 30 preferred and a track record of enforcing safety programs onsite.
  • Experience managing quality control, punch lists, commissioning and closeout activities.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites as required; ability to work in variable weather and on active construction sites.
  • Preferred / Nice to have: Experience in one or more of the following sectors: Automotive Manufacturing, Cold Storage, K12, Healthcare, Distribution, Government Construction.
  • Preferred: Construction management degree, technical certificate or equivalent field experience.
