Job description

A Material Handler regularly performs routine to moderately advanced production activities to maintain the flow of work under limited supervision. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Transport, load, unload, and store steel coils in appropriate locations using various equipment (Forklift, Crane, etc.).

Inspect and assist in packaging coils as needed and manage scrap.

Completes required paperwork/system input for each product.

Maintain a clean work environment by keeping work area free of trash and scrap.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety, and policy manuals); ability to read a tape measure.
  • Proficient in basic math and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow and give instructions.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
  • Work authorization: United States (Required)
  • High School or equivalent. Crane and Forklift certification required.

Experience & Education:

  • High school or equivalent
  • Forklift and Crane Operator certification required.
  • Prior metals experience preferred.
