Job description

Salesforce Lead
Development / Enhancement Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Apex classes, triggers, batch jobs, and schedulers.
  • Build and customize Visualforce pages as required
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and integration tools.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, high-performance technical solutions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and provide sound technical recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across production and sandbox environments.
  • Collaborate closely with admin, functional, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Stay current with the latest Salesforce releases, features, and platform enhancements.

Production Support Responsibilities
  • Monitor, triage, and resolve production incidents related to Salesforce functionality, integrations, and data within defined SLA's
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA), document findings for recurring or critical issues and propose automation or process improvements for resolution
  • Prioritize issues based on impact, urgency, and SLAs; ensure timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Manage scheduled jobs, Apex batch processes, and platform events to ensure stable production operations.
  • Monitor and address job failures, data inconsistencies, and integration errors.
  • Manage service requests such as user access updates, permission changes, report creation, and small enhancements.
  • Assist in deploying configuration changes, flows, reports, dashboards, and components from lower environments to production.
  • Support post deployment validations and quickly address any deployment-related issues.
  • Perform routine Salesforce admin activities-user provisioning, permission set assignments, profile management, and data updates.
  • Monitor system jobs, API usage, storage utilization, and transactional performance.
  • Participate in daily standups, review meetings, production support discussions and provide on-call support for critical issues
  • Provide after-hours support during major releases or high business impact activities.

Required Skills
  • 9+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Apex (classes, triggers, test classes).
  • Solid experience with Visualforce pages and controllers.
  • Proven background in Salesforce integrations (REST, SOAP, OAuth, Web Services).
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce data model, security model, and governor limits.
  • Proficiency in SOQL, SOSL, and asynchronous Apex.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools such as Git.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 80,000- $ 130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
