Job Title:Application Support Specialist

Reports To:Senior IT Manager

Department:MIS

Pay Rate: Starting at $25.00/hr

Job Summary: Responsible for the analysis, design, coding, testing and support of routine applications or databases. Consult with internal users for a business needs analysis. Conduct research and make recommendations to supervise relative to vendor and application parameters, cost and implementation process. Perform the research, evaluation, implementation, testing and support of third party packaged software or hosted applications for routine projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consults with end-users to determine project requirements for basic or routine initiatives or projects.
  • Evaluates and recommends databases, applications, software or alternatives as necessary.
  • Develops technical design specifications and requests quotes from vendors.
  • Research, evaluates, installs and tests basic or routine third-party software packages and hosted applications.
  • Maintains documents of user support activity, such as problems, corrective actions, resolution status' and completed database or application implementation.
  • Prepare and conduct end-user training on various technical subjects.
  • Collaborates with internal resources, vendors and others to meet business objectives.
  • Keep current on changing trends and technologies and recommend initiatives that improve or reduce costs for management.
  • Establish and maintain a cohesive, productive working relationship with internal departments and other IT staff.
  • Must be willing to learn XML, HTML, MySQL and MSSQL.
  • Maintains working hours as helpdesk support to the enterprise as requested.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to team members and guests.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Attend all meetings and complete all required training satisfactorily.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all systems, data, and proprietary information.
  • Work at other properties as needed.
  • Be included in rotation for some weekend marketing events, including concerts.
  • This is an onsite position with minimal remote work.
  • Performs all other duties assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or zero to two (0-2) years' experience in IT technical services, to include application support, coding, network structure and Microsoft Application Support.
  • Must have one to three (1-3) years' programming experience in a Microsoft environment, and PHP.
  • Must have working knowledge of Net framework and SQL
  • Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced casino environment (noise/smoke exposure possible).
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance with the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
