Henry Ford Health is pleased to announce an exceptional leadership opportunity for a distinguished mid-career or senior adult cardiac surgeon to serve as Director of Cardiac Surgery at Henry Ford St. John Hospital, a tertiary-care center with a longstanding tradition of cardiovascular excellence and an unwavering commitment to innovation, quality, and patient-centered care.

For decades, Henry Ford St. John Hospital has served as a cornerstone of advanced cardiac care in the Detroit region, providing comprehensive adult cardiac surgical services supported by strong multidisciplinary collaboration across cardiology, critical care, vascular surgery, advanced imaging, and allied specialties. The institution's legacy is defined by clinical excellence, innovation, and a commitment to training the next generation of  surgeons.

We seek an accomplished surgeon whose career reflects outstanding technical expertise in adult cardiac surgery, a sustained record of clinical excellence, and exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills. The Director will lead program development, quality and performance initiatives, faculty recruitment, and strategic growth while cultivating a collaborative and high-performing culture within the Henry Ford Medical Group.

The position includes meaningful academic engagement through the Henry Ford Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Program, with opportunities for resident education, mentorship, and curriculum development. Academic appointment at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine will be commensurate with experience, scholarly achievements, and national standing.
