Role Overview
The Code Sensei is the front-line mentor and coach, working directly with students ("ninjas") to guide them through coding challenges while creating a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with kids, technology, and helping others grow.
Key Responsibilities
Student Engagement & Instruction
  • Guide students through coding curriculum and projects
  • Help ninjas build problem-solving, logic, and critical thinking skills
  • Provide encouragement, support, and individualized coaching
  • Ensure every student has a fun and rewarding experience

Dojo Experience
  • Create a positive, high-energy, and safe environment
  • Maintain awareness of all students on the floor
  • Assist with opening/closing duties and dojo cleanliness
  • Uphold Code Ninjas standards for safety, engagement, and professionalism

Parent Communication
  • Provide feedback to parents on student progress
  • Support tours and help demonstrate the Code Ninjas experience

Qualifications
Required
  • Experience working with children (mentoring, tutoring, coaching, etc.)

  • Ability to learn and apply curriculum quickly

Preferred
  • Basic knowledge of programming (Scratch, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
