STORE MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY
The Store Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the operations of the convenience store with gasoline. This position manages daily operations, and planning the use of materials and workforce. The Store Manager is a task-oriented leader who must proactively perform, delegate and follow-up on all assigned tasks while continuously growing his/her store staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Leads by example by always exhibiting excellent customer service and adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Leads staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties within budgeted hours and payroll assigned to each particular store.
  • Reviews financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Implements departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, to achieve maximum gross profit in line with Company standards and methods of operation.
  • Determines staffing requirements, and recruits, recommends and trains new employees. Objectively evaluates employee's performance and recommends qualified employees for promotion. Uses proactive management techniques to reduce employee turnover.
  • Monitors performance of cash, inventory and equipment keeping inventory shrink and cash shortages within assigned tolerances and requesting equipment maintenance as required to maintain world class customer service.
  • Coordinates activities directly related to selling products or providing services. Strives to improve sales through suggestive selling and excellent customer service. Trains staff in these selling techniques.
  • Directs and coordinate store's reporting activities auch as purchases, inventory, fuel management software, sales, logs and cash register balancing reports assuring their accruacy and timely submission to Corporate office.
  • Ensures that correct pricing procedures are maintained and that retail merchandise is rotated, clean and in date code and that all food offerings are fresh and appealing.
  • Orders any and all stock, materials and supplies as needed.
  • Performs sales floor work such as greeting and assisting customers, stocking shelves, and taking inventory. Must be able to perform all cashier shift duties when required.
  • Implements company directed product marketing strategies including advertising campaigns and sales promotions. Displays advertising material and window banners on a timely basis. Alerts Corporate office of competitor's gas price changes throughout the day.
  • Monitors and maintains proper store and pump-island cleanliness, appearance and maintenance per company guidelines. Uses maintenance reporting system to immediately request required maintenance.
  • Enforces rules, regulations and policies on safety and security for the protection of customers and employees and enforces all applicagle federal, state and local regulations on Company premises.
  • Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner demonstrating strong leadership and communication ability. Speaks highly of the company in the presence of other employees or customers.
