Job description

Role and Responsibilities:
Full- Time Sound and Security personnel (unarmed) in support of the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) located at NSWC PHD Port Hueneme. Must be adaptable, flexible, willing and able to work Monday to Friday with some weekends. Personnel are needed for Swing Shift, (Monday to Friday).
Position Duties:• Perform shipboard internal/perimeter foot patrol rounds taking hourly equipment meter readings.
• Perform shipboard security patrol to detect or prevent individuals from committing acts, which are injurious toothers or to property.
• Notify supervisor in all emergency situations.
• Maintain a highly visible presence observing and reporting all unusual activity. Investigate questionable actor behavior observed or reported on the ship.
• Respond to reports of injured personnel and notify supervisor/appropriate personnel if additional assistance is necessary.
• As member of the regular crew, will be required to get underway to support ships' missions and testing requirements. Qualifications:• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• No criminal record, able to satisfactorily complete background check.
• Have a valid driver's license with their own transportation.
• Able to follow Company policies and procedures.
• Able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed reports.
• Able to complete paperwork documenting meter readings and security observations, activities and actions completed.
• Able to complete STCW Basic Training courses and obtain TWIC Card and Coast Guard MMC.
• Must be able to complete Coast Guard Physical exam.
Preferred Skills:• Minimum Schooling: Graduate from high school.
• Minimum Security Experience: 2 Years
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to climb up and down the shipboard vertical ladders.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
