Job description

Coast Electric is seeking a customer focused and detailed oriented Call Center Representative to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, communicating effectively, and can provide excellent service in a fast-paced environment. Call Center Representative will serve as the primary point of contact for Coast Electric members, assisting with account questions, service requests, payments, billing concerns, and other member needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer incoming calls and assist Coast Electric members with new service, disconnects, service changes, billing questions, complaints, and general account inquiries.
  • Access and update member accounts using customer information system software.
  • Process service orders, payments, account changes, meter readings, and billing arrangements.
  • Assist commercial members with new service applications, deposits, and required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of member inquiries and actions taken.
  • Answer questions regarding Coast Electric and CoastConnect programs and services.
  • Investigate residential account usage that falls outside normal ranges.
  • Process payments and assist with daily deposits and payment documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with other offices, field personnel, and departments to address member needs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; high school diploma preferred.
  • At least one year's experience working with the public.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers in person, by phone, and in writing.
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous while handling a variety of member concerns.
  • Strong listening, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately perform cash handling transactions.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends during outages, disasters, and other emergency situations.
