Coalition Coordinator - Partnership to Reduce Cancer in Rhode Island About Us The Partnership to Reduce Cancer in Rhode Island (PRCRI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operating as the Rhode Island State Cancer Coalition. Our mission is to lead and collaborate on efforts to prevent cancer and improve the quality of life for all Rhode Islanders living with cancer through education, advocacy, and supportive resources. Working closely with the Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (CCCP) at the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), PRCRI supports implementation of the Rhode Island State Cancer Plan—focusing on primary prevention, secondary prevention/screening, survivorship and caregiving, and health equity. Position Overview We are seeking an energetic, highly organized, and proactive Coalition Coordinator to support coalition activities, engage community partners, and drive strategies outlined in the RI State Cancer Plan. As the Coalition Coordinator, you will serve as a primary project manager for coalition initiatives, coordinate work groups, oversee educational and screening programs, lead communications, and plan our Annual Cancer Summit. Primary Responsibilities Coalition Work Group Facilitation Schedule, build agendas for, facilitate, and maintain records for key coalition work groups, including the Prevention, Screening & Early Detection Work Group, Lung Cancer Screening Roundtable, Oral Health Task Force, Palliative Care Work Group, and Skin Cancer Screening Planning Group. Recruit and engage individual and organizational coalition members. Onboard new members, connect them to active initiatives, and coordinate volunteers for community screenings and events. Event & Educational Program Coordination Coordinate planning logistics, theme development, speaker outreach, sponsor/exhibitor recruitment, promotional materials, CEU/CME tracking, and day-of execution for the RI Cancer Summit—the coalition's largest annual event. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual educational events including creating marketing materials, managing registration, and compiling evaluation data. Community Screening & Outreach Programs Facilitate planning meetings, recruit volunteers, coordinate on-site logistics, and manage evaluation data for skin cancer screening events. Represent PRCRI at monthly community events to distribute educational materials, network, and recruit members. Communications Strategy Curate and send the monthly coalition newsletter, write quarterly articles for CURE Magazine, manage organizational email campaigns (~3/month), and schedule social media content (10–15 posts/month). Ensure consistent messaging across all external communications. Grant Deliverables & Reporting Track and document progress toward RI State Cancer Plan objectives and submit monthly reports to the RIDOH CCCP Program Manager. Participate in weekly update meetings with the Program Manager. Compile monthly performance reports for the Board of Directors, track program data using Salesforce, manage event registration databases, and respond to general email inquiries. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Human Services, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience in community health, family services, or social services. Outstanding organizational and time-management skills with proven ability to prioritize concurrent deadlines and maintain high attention to detail. Self-motivated with demonstrated work ethic, integrity, and professionalism. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills. Comfort with public speaking and facilitating meetings. Proficiency with standard office software, database management (Salesforce experience a plus), social media management, graphic design tools, and virtual learning/survey platforms. Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for regular state travel. Ability to work occasional flexible hours (evenings/weekends) for events as needed. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds during event setup, exhibit tabling, and screening events. Position Details Status: Full Time, Exempt Hours: 35 hours per week, variable hours based on Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Work Structure: Hybrid (office based in Providence with remote flexibility) Salary Range: $48,000 - $54,000 per year Reports To: Executive Director Benefits: Immediately upon hire, the employee will start accruing 20 days of paid PTO annually plus 11 paid holidays per year. Full-time employees are eligible for health and dental coverage beginning the first of the month following the date of hire at no cost to them for an individual plan. If you don’t need insurance, you can opt for a monthly stipend. Employees are able to participate in a 401(k) plan with immediate vesting and employer matching.
