Description:
  • Demonstrates proficiency necessary for excellent achievement in the sport.
  • Works collaboratively with coaches to implement organized practice plans and game strategies.
  • Helps oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
  • Responsible for adherence to all HAC, DIAA, and school rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Helps maintain and inventory all equipment and uniforms for sport.
  • Represents the school in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that relate to this position.
  • Follow and practice Sussex Academy's Mindful Coach Profile.

Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Advanced education above high school is preferred.
  2. Demonstrates interest and proficiency in the sport.
  3. Demonstrates an understanding of the relationship between the athlete, academics, and overall athletic and school program.
  4. Possess CPR certification and concussion protocol training or willingness to become certified (Head and Assistant Coaches).
  5. Clean Criminal Background Check, TB test and child protection registry clearance must be completed prior to the start of employment.
