General Cleaner

We are currently hiring a General Cleaner to join our team at a warehouse facility located on the east side of Madison. This part-time position offers a pay rate of $15.50 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Candidates should be dependable, detail-oriented, and preferably have prior cleaning experience. Steel-toe shoes are required, and applicants must have reliable transportation.

The General Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Team members must be flexible and willing to complete all duties assigned by their supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Dusting surfaces such as desks, cabinet tops, partitions, and other areas.
  • Emptying trash and recycling containers and transporting waste to designated disposal locations.
  • Sweeping and mopping hard-surface floors.
  • Vacuuming carpets and floors using upright vacuums and backpack vacuums.
  • Spot cleaning carpets as needed.
  • Cleaning glass surfaces.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, including sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, and floors.
  • Restocking restroom supplies and ensuring restrooms remain fully supplied.
  • Polishing metal fixtures and fittings.
  • Performing additional cleaning duties as assigned based on customer needs or management direction.
  • Following all company safety policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications / Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull as part of daily job duties.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely work with cleaning chemicals.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Effective communication and cooperation skills.
