We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Engineering Co-op - Electric Distribution in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This role will start in January 2027 or May 2027 and will require full-time presence. The hourly rate for this position is $23.10 with paid company holidays.

Job Summary
This program gives students the opportunity to preview the work environment in their field of study and:
  • Apply classroom learning
  • Combine engineering science with communications and team building skills
  • Receive hands-on experience

Job Responsibilities
As part of the Electric Distribution Asset Management team, Electrical Engineering co-ops and Civil Engineering co-ops support tasks associated with the overall planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of the electric distribution system.
  • Electrical engineering co-ops will have non-consecutive work assignments in several areas which may include Materials and Standards, Inspection and Maintenance, Planning Support, System Protection, or Reliability.
  • Civil engineering co-ops will support the engineering work group responsible for the design and analysis of steel, concrete and foundation structures and developing site plans and storm water drainage plans.
  • This Co-op Expectation will require One Consecutive Full-Time Work Term of (One Summer and School Semester), and another Full time Summer term.

Minimum Experience Required
  • High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
  • Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Electrical Engineering degree with a graduation date after June 2027.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Students are expected to complete at least two work terms before graduation.
  • Valid Driver's License

Pay Range Minimum: $23.10
Pay Range Maximum: $27.55
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
