This is a role well suited for a highly motivated student looking to build their skill set and gain hands-on experience. As a Mechanical Engineer Co-op, you will be responsible for:
  • Operating within a cross-functional team made up of both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Providing design concepts, material/design specifications, detailed part and assembly drawing drawings using Siemens NX with analysis where appropriate.
  • Providing complete design, development and testing of your work.
  • Communicating technical and commercial issues, including working with in-house and outsourced manufacturing in a global environment.
  • Recommend new designs and processes or improvement to existing design and processes to meet functional requirements.

This position may suit you best if you are familiar with the areas and concepts below, and would like to develop your skills within Healthineers:
  • CAD, FEA and CFD (Siemens NX)
  • 2D drawings (with GD&T, tolerance stack up, form, fit and function consideration)
  • Structural design
  • Knowledge of electronics packaging for EMI/EMC
  • Liquid and/or air cooling of electronics
  • Interested in medical imaging and/or medical technology
  • FDA/ISO design controls
  • Motivated to learn and develop your technical skills

Required skills and education to have for the success of this role:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, majoring in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred)
  • Registered and eligible to participate in a co-op through your university
  • Work Authorization: Permanent work authorization in the U.S. is required
