Job Summary

Performs accurate and efficient register transactions, maintains department cleanliness, and provides customer service.

Concord Food Co-op is a natural foods grocery store, bakery, and cafe with locations in Concord, NH and New London, NH. A pillar of Main St., the Co-op strives to support and enhance the New Hampshire community by only stocking ethically-sourced natural foods and through positive cooperative action in-store and in the community. 

Essential Job Duties

  • Accept payment and accurately make change for transactions utilizing the POS system
  • Enter correct prices, departments, and PLUs for products
  • Balance cash drawer at end of shift and meet over/short goal
  • Invite/recruit non-member customers to become members of the Co-op
  • Follow state laws and Co-op policies regarding the sale of alcohol
  • Assists customers with product questions in a friendly, courteous manner and answer/direct calls as necessary

Additional Duties

  • Assists in special projects, assists in other departments as needed, and performs other duties as assigned


Requirements

Essential Skills

  • Good customer service skills for both internal and external customers

  • Ability to take direction and work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and good organizational skills
  • Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
  • Basic math skills and ability to count change
  • Works with guidance from Department Manager
  • Performs a variety of tasks as dictated by department demands
  • Standing for long periods, bending, walking, reaching, and sitting
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a limited basis

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • There are no educational requirements, though grocery or natural foods experience is a plus. 

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state & local standards - including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards 
  • Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state and local standards 
  • Compliance with all personnel policies
