This Hospital is a 60 bed acute care, community-based, not-for-profit hospital serving residents of COASTAL Northern California and COASTAL Southern Oregon. This hospital is affiliated with the largest health system in CA and a national leader in non-profit exceptional patient care.

Due to explosive growth and new challenges, our client has an immediate need for exceptional Chief Nursing Officer.. This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer..

The Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) serves as the primary resource in assuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective nursing care to patient populations at the Entity. The CNE reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CNE also reports indirectly to the System Chief Nurse Officer and works closely with the Chief Medical Executive (CME).
Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Master’s degree is required and preferably in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Science in Nursing (MSN), Public Health (MPH) or Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) preferred.
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible required.

Experience:

  • Experience as a Chief Nursing Executive or Chief Nursing Officer preferred.
  • Extensive nursing experience as Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing in an acute care hospital with demonstrated increasing level of responsibility in management (minimum of 4 years required).
  • Must have experience with medical staff liaison, group leadership and organizational services and financial planning and budget management.
  • Experience in new program/business development and contract negotiation is desirable.
