Job description

Job Title: Machinist

Job Location: Mountain View, CA (Onsite from day one)

Job Duration: 12+ months

 

Minimum years of experience required: 5+ years

Type of Hire: W2/C2C

 

JOB DETAILS:

Note: Prior experience in CNC and 3D printing is required.

•            Fabricating parts with CNC mills, CNC lathes, CNC routers, manual machine equipment, lasers, 3D Printers and waterjets

•            Capable of producing parts with -- in some cases ±0.020mm or tighter -- critical tolerances

•            Read schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings to determine methods of manufacturing and assembly

•            Recognize the need and develop, design and build appropriate tooling and fixtures

•            Gather and prepare tools and materials required to complete projects

•            Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects on tight timelines

•            Maintain machine shop and fabrication equipment

•            Proactively maintain supplies of hardware components, equipment, etc. to customer  expectations.  Highlight all potential shortages and proactively work to ensure minimal interruption

•            Assembly of precision electro/mechanical systems including tight tolerance mechanical assemblies

•            Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures and appropriate shop tools

•            Cover all aspects of a project's requirements from conceptual design, 3D CAD, drafting, fabrication to assembly

•            Have a firm understanding of a variety of materials and their properties.

•            Utilize this knowledge to make informed decisions on materials to use for components.
