CNC Machinist - Aerospace

Shift/Schedule:

  • 1st-6am - 2:30pm (Mon-Fri + OT & weekends)
  • 2nd-2:30pm-11:00pm (Mon-Fri + OT & weekends)


Pay: $26-$38/hr

Reputable Aerospace Manufacturing Company is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their growing team.

    Minimum Experience:

    • Minimum 3-5 years of CNC experience (Setting up & Operating)
    • Experience with set up and running both Mills & Lathes


    Minimum Education:

    • High school grad or GED preferred
    • Trade school for machine/CNC or equivalent work experience


    Skills & Abilities:

    • Able to set up and run different types of machines including both manual and CNC
    • Basic computer skills
    • Able to read and understand blue prints
    • Experience with 3-5 axis preferred
    • Basic shop math skills for set-up of machine and to follow specifications
    • Able to work within specific time lines
    • Knowledge of heat treat process to able to work with machined parts
    • Must be accurate and detailed with minimum errors
    • Perform job with minimum supervision
    • Work within a team environment


    Functional Competencies:

    • CNC Machine Knowledge – Experience operating CNC machinery and performing complex setups, adjustments and tool changes. Preferably specific equipment such as Lathes and Mills, Okuma, Mori Seiki, Hitachi Seiki, Mazak, Controls Mazatroal, Okuma and Fanuc.
    • CNC Programming – Intermediate understanding of CNC programming, codes and editing
    • Calibration Knowledge - Proficient with measurement tools such as dial indicators, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers and other inspection tools,
    • Equipment Operation – Experience with driving sit down forklifts and operating cranes.
    • Product Quality Knowledge – Monitor the products for quality, imperfections and conducting test runs
    • Leadership Effectiveness – Assists with orienting and training new staff or cross training existing staff, shares expertise with others.


    Physical Demands/ Conditions:

    • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs unassisted on a regular basis in order to load and unload equipment and move finished goods
    • Ability to stand on a non-fatigue mat about 85% of the work day
    • Frequently walks; uses hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
    • Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception, requires use of safety glasses
    • Employee is required to be alert to detail and use caution around moving material
    • Employee may occasionally be required to sit, balance, stoop and/or crawl
    • Noise level is usually high and required the use of hearing protection
    • While performing the duties of the job, employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, airborne particles, fumes and extreme heat
