Job description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support our sheet metal fabrication operations. This role is responsible for programming and optimizing Amada turret punch presses and fiber laser cutting machines, developing nested programs for maximum material utilization, and supporting production efficiency initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain CNC programs using AP100 for new and existing parts.
  • Develop nested programs to optimize material usage and reduce scrap.
  • Generate setup sheets and programming documentation for machine operators.
  • Maintain an organized CNC program library.
  • Collaborate with Production Planning to support manufacturing schedules and workflow.
  • Perform program prove-outs and optimize tooling, run times, and tool life.
  • Update production orders and material usage data in SAP ERP.
  • Recommend improvements to programming standards, tooling strategies, and part designs to enhance manufacturability and productivity.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of CNC/NC programming experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
  • Experience programming turret punch presses and laser cutting equipment.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with SAP ERP preferred.
  • SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • Experience with Amada punches, fiber lasers, and AP100 software is highly desirable.
