The CNC Maintenance Technician will support PM/Repair activities for CNC equipment at the Indianapolis Site for Life Science Products. The CNC Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining production equipment, performing both electrical and mechanical work to ensure optimal machine performance. This role involves using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and infrared scanners, inspecting equipment per manufacturer requirements, and ordering replacement parts when needed. The technician will troubleshoot complex issues involving hydraulics, electronics, and software while collaborating with contractors and other maintenance personnel to resolve problems efficiently. Additional responsibilities include tracking and documenting work orders, as well as conducting testing and making precise adjustments to systems and components to keep CNC machinery operating reliably.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Manufacturing/Process Engineering and is part of the Beckman Coulter Life Science Manufacturing located in Indianapolis, IN and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform advanced mechanical maintenance, analysis and repair on CNC machines and supporting manufacturing equipment

  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

  • Execute predictive and preventive maintenance and recommend equipment improvements to enhance safety, quality, and uptime

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Associates degree 2+ years experience working with CNC machinery and/or repairs or troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.

  • Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Good communication, time management, organizational skills; reading and understanding electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

  • Medical industry or machinery relocation and installation experience, and welding and Fabrication

  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
