Job description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turning Machinist to join a growing precision space team in a modern, climate-controlled machine shop environment. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist with strong experience programming and operating CNC turning machines, particularly Mori Seiki and Okuma equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience and the ability to independently program, setup, and operate CNC turning centers to manufacture high-precision components.

Responsibilities

Program, setup, and operate CNC turning machines to produce precision parts

  • Work with Mori Seiki and Okuma CNC machines

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications

  • Perform tooling setup, offsets, and machine adjustments

  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges

  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to maintain production efficiency

  • Maintain quality standards and ensure adherence to safety procedures

  • Support continuous improvement and workflow optimization initiatives

  • Keep accurate production and inspection records

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience required

  • Strong experience programming and operating CNC turning machines

  • Experience with Mori Seiki and/or Okuma controls preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T

  • Proficient with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Stable work history and strong attention to detail
